ABOUT THIS PACKAGE

Highlight of this package include a visit to the Selingan Island that was gazetted in 1977 as Turtle Island Park.  It lies about 40km north of Sandakan in the Sulu Sea. The park is a safe haven for the endangered Green and Hawksbill turtles and gives visitors opportunity to watch turtle landings and learn about the conservation activities organised on the island.

ITINERARY

Day 1:  Meet at hotel lobby or airport (preferably via MH2042 that departs Kota Kinabalu for Sandakan at 0740hrs).  Transfer to Sandakan Jetty.  0930hrs, boat departs for Selingan Island. Check into respective room on the island.  Lunch.  Free at own leisure.

Day 2:  Breakfast.  0700hrs, depart Selingan and proceed to the Sepilok Orang Utan and Rehabilitation Centre.  1000hrs, watch feeding of young Orang Utans (Pongo Pygmaeus) at the centre. Short video show of the centre.  Depart for about 2-hour drive to Sukau.  Check-into respective room at the Proboscis Lodge Bukit Melapi (or "Melapi Lodge" for short).  Lunch.

Day 3:  After breakfast,  depart Sukau for Gomantong Caves and onward to Sandakan.  Brief city tour followed by lunch.  Transfer to hotel or airport for afternoon flight departure (preferably the SDK/BKI MH2047 departing at 1645hrs).  End of Service.

All tours and transfers as stated in the itinerary (seat-in-coach/boat basis), 1 night accommodation based on twin share at Melapi Lodge, 1 night accommodation based on twin share at Selingan Island, daily meals (lunch, dinner and breakfast) and beverages (excluding alcoholic and carbonated drinks), Menanggul River cruise (1 trip on seat-in-boat basis), English speaking tour guide and entrance fees.
